Edward Charles Sienkiewicz
Edward Charles Sienkiewicz, passed away on April 14, 2016 at Holbrook’s Nursing Home in Buckhannon, WV. He was in declining health. Edward was born on November 20, 1924, to the late Charles and Christine Gable Sienkiewicz in New York City, NY. Edward joined the Navy in February 21, 1942 and separated from the war in November 25, 1945. He served on the U.S.S. Kaweah A014 from 1942-1943 and the U.S.S. Indus AKN1 1944 -1945. He married Dorothy M. Russell in Hadley, MA and she passed away on March 17, 1965. He is survived by three sons and one daughter from that marriage, Thomas E. Sienkiewicz and Joyce of Buckhannon; Michael P. Sienkiewicz and Myra of Charles Town, WV, Kathleen M. Willis and Steven of Highlands Ranch, CO and Christopher J. Sienkiewicz and Bonita of Lewisburg, WV. Also surviving in his second marriage is Kay Maine Sienkiewicz whom he married on April 16, 1966; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three step grandchildren; six step-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins; one brother, Frank Sienkiewicz of Florence, MA and Roberta Reardon of Whately, MA. He was preceded in death by Charles, Walter, William, Ronald, Raymond and Peter Sienkiewicz, Lillian Worth, Elizabeth Pelott and Judy Pelc. Ed graduated from Northhampton Commercial College in 1947. In 1957 he was a salesman for Moore Business Forms and System Division. In 1962 he was employed at the Moore Rutland Plant and then progressed to the jobs of order checker and adjustment clerk and on to Assistant Supervisor of the Order Department when he transferred to Buckhannon in 1967. He became plant accountant in 1978 and retired from Moore on December 1, 1987. In 1991 he was employed part-time for 20 years at the Walmart in Weston, WV. A mass of Christian burial will be held 11 AM Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 35 Franklin St., Buckhannon, WV, with Father Joseph McLaughlin S/M. Celebrant. Interment will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. At the request of Mr. Sienkiewicz his body was cremated. Memorial donations may be made to the Rosenbaum Family House, WVU Hospital Medical Center Drive, PO Box 8228 Morgantown, WV 26502-8228.
