Roy David Coakley
Roy David Coakley, age 79, of Buckhannon, WV died Friday, April 22, 2016 at his home. He was born October 17, 1936 in Lewis Co., WV, a son of the late Purl and Ruby Radcliff Coakley. On June 7, 1959 he married Naomi Dalton who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Pam Wilson and husband Bill and Ann Liggett all of Buckhannon; four granddaughters, Angela Bailey of Hackers Creek, WV, Miranda Sandreth and husband Ron of Bridgeport, WV, Lee Ann Harper of Hackers Creek and Ashley Smith-Wilson and husband Ben Smith of Bridgeport; one grandson, Rex “J.R.” Harris, Jr. and wife Marsha of Lebanon, VA; five great-granddaughters, Janet Harper and Crystal Pumphrey both of Hackers Creek, Brooklynne Russell, Autumn Wilson and Braelynne Sandreth all of Bridgeport; three great-grandsons, David “D.J.” Harper, Jr., and Brandon Pumphrey both of Hackers Creek and Connor Sandreth of Bridgeport; one great-great-grandson, Xavier Harper of Hackers Creek; two sisters, Pat Fowler of Ravenna, OH and Iris Boyles and husband John of PA and one special cousin. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his foster parents, Everett and Rose Ella Hibbs; two daughters, Janet Lynne and Crystal Gwen Coakley; one sister, Alice Jean Carpenter and one brother, Gerald Joseph Coakley. Mr. Coakley was a Security Officer. He attended the Independent Word of Life Church and the family would like to send a special thanks to the nurses and staff at WV Hospice. Friends will be received Monday, April 25, 2016 from 4-9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1 PM Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Guy Ware officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery at Tallmansville, WV. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
