Obituary of Alberta Lea Marteney

Alberta Lea Marteney Alberta Lea Marteney, age 80, of Buckhannon, WV died Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at her home. She was born April 16, 1936 in Upshur County, WV, a daughter of the late Fred and Hazel Victoria Zirkle Nitz. On July 26, 1952 she married Boyd D. Marteney who preceded her in death on April 19, 2008. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Beth Ann Marteney. She is survived by two sons, Gary Marteney and wife Donna of Rosedale, MD and Boyd Marteney of Buckhannon; one daughter, Vicki Abel of Buckhannon; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Marteney was a homemaker and a Methodist by faith. Friends will be received Saturday, April 30, 2016 from 2-3 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 3 PM Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Wease L. Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Marteney Cemetery in Buckhannon.
