Obituary of Steven Kent Chidester

Steven Kent Chidester, age 55, of Rock Cave, WV died Monday, December 11, 2017 at his home. He was born February 15, 1962 in Buckhannon, WV, a son of the late Raymond and Patty Peck Chidester. On August 16, 1981 he married Bobbie Wilber who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Stephanie Walton and husband Garrett of Kanawha Head, WV and Sara Chidester and Joseph Szymanski of Rock Cave; four grandsons, Devin Wiant of Rock Cave, Raymond Walton of Kanawha Head and Landon and Tyler Wiant both of French Creek; one granddaughter, Harley Walton of Kanawha Head; several nieces and nephews and three sisters, Carol Workman of Kesling Mill, WV, Shelia Chidester of Charleston, WV and Kim Perrine and husband Dave of Rock Cave. In addition to her parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronnie and Stanley Chidester and one sister, Brenda Crouse. Steven was a Carpenter and an avid outdoorsman. He was passionate about hunting, fishing and camping. He loved to spend time with his family and grand babies. A memorial service will be held 2 PM on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the Canaan Church with the Rev. Jerry Lee officiating. In honoring Mr. Chidester's wishes, he will be cremated.
