Obituary of Gary Ellis Ogden

Gary Ellis Ogden Gary Ellis Ogden, age 72, of Brandon, FL went to be with our Lord and Savior Friday, May 20, 2016 at Sun City Center Hospice House in Ruskin, FL. He was born November 10, 1943 in Buckhannon, WV, a son of the late Ellis G. and Cletha Helmick Ogden. On May 25, 1974 he married Linda L. Schleuniger who survives. This coming Wednesday would have been their 42nd Anniversary. In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Kevin Ogden and wife Tricia of Buchannon and Patrick Ogden and wife Erica of Plant City, FL; two granddaughters, Hannah Ogden of Buckhannon and Ivy Ogden of Plant City, FL; three grandsons, Levi and Silas Ogden both of Buckhannon and Jacob Ogden of Plant City and one brother, Howard Ogden and wife Linda of Buckhannon. Mr. Ogden worked at Moore Business Forms for 29 years and was a member of the Country Side Baptist Church in Plant City, FL. He was the Strawberry Festival President in Buckhannon in 1988 and was very involved for many years. Gary loved his hometown of Buckhannon and was passionate about the trips he was able to take back home when he could. Friends will be received Tuesday, May 24, 2016 from 5 to 8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. J. Edward McDaniels officiating. Burial will follow in the Bailey Cemetery in Buckhannon. The Upshur County Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the graveside. For their Florida friends, the family does intend to have a Celebration of Life when they return back home to Florida.
