Obituary of Scotty Jean Filer

Scotty Jean Filer Scotty Jean Filer, age 85, of Buckhannon, WV died Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at The Caring Manor in Buckhannon. She was born August 25, 1930 in Washington, PA, a daughter of the late Stephen G. and Alta Mae Scott Day. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Stephen G. Day, Jr.; one niece, Allison Day and a cousin, Mary Jane Krohn. Surviving are two daughters, Christine Buchanan and husband Keith of Buckhannon and Elizabeth Pelchat and husband Daniel of Denver, NC; one grandson, Scott Buchanan and wife Kristen of Buckhannon; one sister-in-law, Diane Day of Norwalk, OH and three nephews, Stephen G. Day III of Athens, OH, Jeffery Day and wife Joyce of Lore City, OH and Michael Day of Norwalk, OH. Mrs. Filer was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Buckhannon and worked for Moore Business Forms. She was also a member of the Buckhannon Women’s Club and the St. Joseph’s Aux. Mrs. Filer volunteered for many years at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon. A memorial service will be held 10 AM Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Buckhannon.
