William A. Auvil, age 84, of Buckhannon, WV died Friday, June 17, 2016 at Holbrook’s Nursing Home in Buckhannon. He was born June 29, 1931 in Philippi, WV, a son of the late William Quinter and Reta May McQuain Auvil. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a half-brother, Kermit Auvil and other half brothers and sisters. He is survived by a cousin, Helen Shields of Buckhannon. Mr. Auvil was a reporter for the United Press International. He was an avid fan of WVWC Athletics, his Alma Mater and was a Methodist by faith. At the request of Mr. Auvil he will be cremated and the cremains will be buried in the Weston Masonic Cemetery in Weston, WV. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
