Obituary of Delena Lucille Smith

Delena “Jake” Lucille Smith Delena “Jake” Lucille Smith, age 84, of Buckhannon, WV died Monday, July 11, 2016 at her home. She was born April 14, 1932 in Upshur County, WV, a daughter of the late Charles Evertt and Virgie Lake Smith. On May 12, 1947 she married Robert Harrison Smith who preceded her in death on December 18, 1973. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one daughter, Delena Marie Smith; one son, Roger Neal Smith; one brother, Charles Marsh and one sister, Dora Maxine Bailey. Surviving are two daughters, Melinda Diann Baum of Buckhannon and Reta Jane Hamner and husband Stan of Rock Cave, WV; one son, Ronald Lee Smith and wife Felecia of Buckhannon; seven granddaughters, Rhonda and husband Clinton, Trecie and husband Matt, Dawn and husband Sam and Abigail all of Buckhannon, Kayle and husband Alex of Huntington, WV and Rebecca and Krystal both of PA; six grandsons, Bobby and wife Kristina, Rodney and Hunter all of Buckhannon, Michael and wife Samantha of Clarksburg, WV, Stanley Jr. and companion Emily of Rock Cave and Jonathon of PA; twenty eight great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Tammy Smith of PA and a special friend, Jeff Bennett of Buckhannon. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and a Christian by faith. Friends will be received Friday, July 15, 2016 from 11 AM to 2 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2 PM at the funeral home with the Rev. Donald Butcher officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery.
