Lowell William “Bill” Elbon, age 87, of Adrian, WV died Thursday, July 14, 2016 at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV. He was born July 5, 1929, in Upshur County, WV, a son of the late Lowell Kingsley and Rachel Roxanna Hoover Elbon. On March 30, 1992 he was preceded by his wife Mary Jean Jones. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by one brother, Tom Elbon and one sister, Helen Tolliver. He is survived by two sons, Gary Elbon and wife Karen of Buckhannon, WV and David Elbon of Abbott, WV; two granddaughters, Sheena Anderson and husband Jason and Tara Tenney and husband Ben all of Buckhannon; five great-granddaughters, Brogan and Charlee Tenney and Adelynn, Aria and Madison Anderson all of Buckhannon; one brother, Bob Elbon and wife Rose of Buckhannon; a special niece, Patty Tolliver of FL and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Elbon was a Railroad Telegraph Operator and Clerk for 42 years. He was a member of the Aletha Chapter #82 Order of the Eastern Star and was the Sentinel for many years and a member of the Rock Cave Lodge #81 A.F. & A.M., where he was the Past Master and current Senior Warden. Mr. Elbon was also the past Grand Pursuivant of the Grand Lodge of the State of WV, the past District Deputy Grandmaster of the 13th Masonic District and the past Grand High Priest of the Upshur County Chapter #34 of the Royal Arch Masons. Friends will be received Sunday, July 17, 2016 from 5 to 8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1 PM Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Bob Heavner officiating. Burial will follow in the Buckhannon Memorial Park in Buckhannon. There will be Masonic rites conducted at the graveside.
