Obituary of Algana Lowe Guthrie

Algana Lowe Guthrie, age 95, of Buckhannon, WV, died Tuesday, December 19, 2017. She was born November 2, 1922, in Richie County, WV, a daughter of the late Arthur and Anna Grace Benson Lowe. On August 10, 1942 she married Glen G. Guthrie who preceded her in death on January 24, 2003. Surviving are two daughters, Margaret Domine and husband Norman of Allen Park, MI and Patricia Zilly and husband Richard of Yorktown, VA; two granddaughters, Brigitte Lipa and husband Raymond, Jr. of Allen Park and Diana Quinn and husband John of Toledo, OH; one grandson, Glen Zilly and wife Danielle of Phoenix, AZ; one great grandson, William Lipa of Allen Park; four great granddaughters, Brianna and Raelyn Lipa both of Allen Park and Lauren and Allison Zilly both of Phoenix; four sisters-in-law, Jane Lowe and Mildred Mullikin both of Buckhannon and Gladys Spradley and Alma Rawls both of Hampton, VA and three beloved cats, Squeaky, Rosie and Junior. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brother Edgar Lowe. Mrs. Guthrie was an Interior Casket Designer. She was a member of the Sand Run Baptist Church for 84 years. Friends will be received Friday, December 22, 2017 from 5 to 7 PM at the Sand Run Baptist Church. The funeral service will be Saturday at 11 AM at the church with the Rev. Donald Butcher officiating.
