Obituary of Harley B. Collins

Harley B. Collins, age 85, of Weston, WV died Saturday, July 30, 2016 at his home. He was born July 14, 1931 in Weston, a son of the late Roy and Alma Peter Collins. On July 25, 2008 he married Patty James who survives. Also surviving are three step sons, Kevin Belt and wife Kathy of Weston, Todd Belt of Charlotte, NC and Chad Belt and wife Shelly of Weston; two step granddaughters, Samantha Cormier and husband Al of Nashville, TN and Kayla Alkire and husband Thomas of Weston; three step grandsons, Nathan Belt of Wilmington, NC, Kasey Belt and wife Kayla and Korey Belt all of Weston; two step great-granddaughters, Meizhi Belt and Taya Alkire both of Weston and one sister, Helen Burkhammer of Buckhannon, WV. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Emma Belle Lamb Collins whom he married on April 24, 1954 and died on September 27, 1998; one daughter, Vicki Darlene McCartney. Mr. Collins served in the U.S. Army from September 1954 to September 1956. He was a Field Officer for Columbia Gas Company and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Buckhannon. Friends will be received Monday, August 1, 2016 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 10 AM Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Jerry Murrell and Pastor Jay Teodoro officiating. Burial will follow in the Peterson Cemetery in Weston. Upshur County Honor Guard will conduct Military Honors at the gravesite. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
