Obituary of Marlene K. Dever

Marlene Kay Dever, age 69, of Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Holbrook’s Nursing Home in Buckhannon. She was born April 22, 1948 in Upshur County, WV, a daughter of the late Thomas Jay and Iva Mae Waugh Sargent. On September 10, 1971 she married Orville Harold Dever who preceded her in death on April 28, 2016. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Phyllis Oldaker and Helen Scarcella. She is survived by three daughters, Amy Westfall and husband Jackie of Buckhannon, Sandra Clark and husband Calvin Bobby of Thomaston, GA and Angela Waterholter of Springfield, VA; three sons, Mark Sargent and wife Mona of Wardensville, WV, Ronald Harold Dever and wife Katherine of Buckhannon and Jason Dever of Buckhannon; fourteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five sisters, Mabel Heslep, Patricia Justus and Shirley Carter all of OH, Betty Sargent of Buckhannon and Karen Booth and husband Kenny of Buckhannon and one brother, Thomas Sargent of Buckhannon. Mrs. Dever was a homemaker. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Holbrook’s Nursing Home. Friends will be received at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home on Sunday, February 11, 2018 from 11 AM until 1 PM the funeral hour with Pastor Charlie Morrison officiating.
