Obituary of James L. Queen

James Allen Lee Queen James Allen Lee Queen, age 87, of Buckhannon, WV died Sunday, August 28, 2016 at his home. He was born February 2, 1929 in Ellamore, WV, a son of the late Charles Elmer Queen and Edna Mae Tusing Queen-Carver. On July 2, 1999, he married Geraldine DeSalvo Rowan who survives. Also surviving one son, Gary L. Queen of Stonewood, WV; two daughters, Diana McGurer and husband Harvey and Sandy Laughlin all of Garrettsville, OH; one step son, Donald Ray Rowan, Jr. of Clincho, VA; three step daughters, Debra Lemons and husband Jimmie of Mathias, WV, Michelle Landis and husband David and Kristi Rowan all of Buckhannon; sixteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; one step brother, Paul Carver and wife Nancy of Elkins, WV; one sister, Dixie Landers of Sago, WV and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Rosetta Mae Jenkins Queen who died in November of 1994; one son, James Bradford Queen; his step-father, George Carver; four brothers, Robert “Bob”, Jr., Tex and Billy Queen; three sisters, Betty Jo Davis, Violet Gower and Augusteen Sprouse and one step brother, George Wayne Carver. Mr. Queen was a Security Guard at Jenkins Ford. He was a member of the Mt. Union United Methodist Church, the Nays Chapel Bible Study and the I.O.O.F. Lodge # 248. James was a loving husband, father, grandfather and dear friend to all. He knew that the Lord surely blessed his life. Friends will be received at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home on Thursday, September 1, 2016 from 12 Noon until 1 PM the funeral hour with the Rev. Ralph Miller officiating.
