Obituary of Jean Claypool

Jean “Grandma” Claypool Jean “Grandma” Claypool, age 77, of Buckhannon, WV died Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at her home. She was born on December 28, 1938 in Flatwoods, WV, a daughter of the late Denny and Elizabeth Ann Riffle Canter. On January 31, 1957 she married Roscoe Lee Claypool who preceded her in death on August 18, 1996. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Terry Claypool. Surviving are three daughters, Susan Michaels and husband William and Charlene Marple and husband Kenneth all of Hackers Creek and Brenda Lee McCormick of Buckhannon; two sons, Burton Claypool of Hackers Creek and Roscoe Claypool, Jr. and wife Lisa of Hodgesville, WV and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Claypool was a member of the Loyal Order of Eagles, a lifetime member of Ladies Aux. VFW and the Moose. Grandma loved to play BINGO. Friends will be received Sunday, September 4, 2016 from 12 Noon to 2 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2PM at the funeral home with the Rev. Donald Butcher officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Church Cemetery in Hodgesville. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
