Obituary of John Carlton Rowan

John C. Rowan John C. Rowan, age 88, of Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, September 1, 2016 at his home. He was born April 1, 1928 in Sand Run, WV, a son of the late Floyd and Lona B. Tenney Rowan. On August 19, 1951 he married Evelyn Kemberley Smith who survives. Also surviving one sister, Vera Kintz of Trenton, MI; two nephews, Jimmy Bailey and wife Andrea of Buckhannon and Michael Smith of Fairmont, WV; two nieces, Loretta Lee Queen of Buckhannon and Brenda Jo Clausson and husband Guy of Fairmont and one great niece, Carla Campbell of French Creek. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Bailey. Mr. Rowan was a welder/maintence worker for General Motors. He was a member of the South Buckhannon Mission Church and a graduate of BUHS in the class of 1948. Friends will be received Tuesday, September 6, 2016 from 5-9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Ed Lowther officiating. Burial will follow in the Buckhannon Memorial Park in Buckhannon.
