Kathleen Mae “Poochie” Tenney
Kathleen Mae “Poochie” Tenney, age 89, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 5, 2016, at Holbrook Nursing Home in Buckhannon, WV. She was born February 17, 1927 in Hemlock, WV, a daughter of the late Conrad and Florence Scott-Tenney. On February 14, 1946 she married Robert “Pat” Tenney who preceded her in death on September 12, 2001. Kathleen is also preceded in death by one daughter, Janet Booth and one son, Sherman Tenney. Kathleen is survived by two sons, Margel “Spike” Tenney and wife Mary, of Tallmansville, Phillip “Bill” Tenney and wife Francis of Helvetia, WV; three daughters, Sheila and husband Ronnie Cottrill of Buckhannon, Mavis and husband Donnie Hoover of Tallmansville, WV and Beverly and husband Larry Cutlip of Buckhannon; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and six step great-grandchildren; one brother, Dayton Tenney and wife Barb of Lewis County, WV; three sisters in law, Mary, Wavalene and Carolyn Tenney all of Buckhannon; and many nieces and nephews who loved her like a mother. Pat and Poochie opened their doors and hearts to many extended family members. Kathleen was preceded in death by sisters, Willa Leigh, Mazie Currence, Irene Olenick, Sissy Currence and Creda Fern Tenney and brothers, Willis, Basil “Chick”, Denley “Bennie” and Don Tenney. She was a life- long member of the Mt. Olive United Methodist Church. Our Mom, our friend, will be greatly missed, but her love and beautiful smile will always be with us. The family would like to send a special thanks to the staff at Holbrook Nursing Home. Friends will be received Thursday, September 8, 2016 from 4-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1 PM Friday at the Mt. Olive United Methodist Church at Hemlock, WV with Pastor Holly J. Hoover and the Rev. Tristan Tenney officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt.
