Buford L. “Rusty” Talbott
Buford L. “Rusty” Talbott, age 88, of Buckhannon, WV departed this life on September 13, 2016 at the West Virginia Veterans Nursing Facility in Clarksburg, WV. He was born April 7, 1928 in Ellamore, WV the son of the late Russell and Myrtle Wentz Talbott. 62 years ago he was united in marriage to Betty Facemire who survives. They have two children, a daughter, Cynthia Vincent and husband Ben of Heaters, WV and son, Brett and wife Renee of Buckhannon. He is survived by grandson, Emerson Talbott of Huntington, WV and step-grandson, Matthew Fox of Shepherdstown, WV and sister, Karen Payne and husband, Robert Eric of Buckhannon. He was a local businessman in the automotive field for many years and was the Owner and General Manager of Talbott’s Subaru, Inc. Music played a large role in Rusty’s life and he loved playing the guitar having played in many venues from Ohio to Florida. He passed on the love of music and his musical ability to Cynthia and Brett. He was a fifty plus year member of the Franklin Lodge #7 A.F. and A.M. and a past member of the Upshur County Shrine Club. Mr. Talbott served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater following World War II and in the U.S. Army 25th Infantry during the Korean Conflict where he earned the Purple Heart. Family and friends will be received at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home on Friday, September 16, 2016 from 5 – 8 PM. A funeral service will be held 2 PM on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Sand Run Baptist Church Cemetery at Excelsior, WV with The Franklin Lodge # 7 A.F. & A.M conducting Masonic Rites at the graveside.
