Obituary of Waneta Cogar

Waneta “Grace” Cogar, age 81, of Buckhannon, WV died Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Holbrook’s Nursing Home in Buckhannon. She was born September 20, 1934 in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Howard Martin and Ethel Radcliff Bennett. On September 9, 1952 she married Robert Reynolds Cogar who preceded her in death on August 28, 1982. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son, Robert Cogar, Jr. She is survived by four daughters, Carol Hurst and husband Don of Buckhannon, Martha Tackett and husband Clyde of The Villages, FL, Robin Harris and husband Richard of Buckhannon and Dolly Christian and husband Michael of Church Hill, TN; two sons, Donald Lee Cogar and wife Kim of Buckhannon and Roy Cogar and wife Debra of Parkersburg, WV; five grandsons, Donald “Jake” Hurst, Jr., and wife Mary and Terry Hinchman, Jr., and wife Angi all of Buckhannon, Jerry Chidester of Walkersville, WV, Robert Cogar of Nashville, TN and Brandon Cogar of Parkersburg; two granddaughters, Angel Casto and husband Jimmie of Buckhannon and Bethany Cogar of Parkersburg; several other grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and one brother, LeRoy Bennett and wife Wanda of Buckhannon. Mrs. Cogar was a homemaker and a member of the Good Hope Tabernacle of Buckhannon. Friends will be received Saturday, September 17, 2016 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Sunday at the funeral home with Pastor Jerry Murrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Rock Cave Cemetery in Rock Cave, WV.
