Obituary of Stanley Boyles

Stanley “Sonny” Boyles, age 70, of Rock Cave, WV died Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at his home. He was born May 10, 1946 in Sago, WV, a son of the late Ford Oscar and Clara Ruth Grose Boyles. On August 5, 1966 he married Dolores Potts who survives. Also surviving are, one son, David Stanley Boyles and wife Christina of Elkins, WV; one daughter, Michelle Curry and husband Jason of Stetson, ME; three grandsons, Aaron Boyles of Buckhannon, WV, Cameron Boyles of Stetson and Grayson Boyles of Elkins; three granddaughters, Sydney and Casey Hoover both of Stetson and Shanna Boyles of Elkins; four brothers, John Andrew Boyles and wife Iris of Stockdale, PA, Jimmie Ray Boyles and wife Linda of Hodgesville, WV, Kenneth “KB” Wayne Boyles and wife Andi of Buckhannon, and Ronald Gene Boyles of Manassas, VA; two sisters, Victoria Anne Snyder of Buckhannon and Nancy Janice Merrifield and husband Rodney of Hutchinson Island, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Christopher O’Neill Boyles and one infant brother Eddie Franklin Boyles. Stan’s philosophy of life was pinned by someone, “Don’t wait for the storm to pass, but learn to dance in the rain”. He danced a lot. Friends will be received Saturday, September 24, 2016 from 5 PM to 9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1 PM Sunday at the Horizons Church with Pastor Dave Cunningham officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the WV Hospice. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
