Obituary of Dorothy Mae Snyder

Dorothy Mae Oldaker Snyder, age 87, died September 25, 2016 at Fairmont Regional Medical Center in Fairmont, WV. “Dot” was born March 19, 1929 in Upshur County, WV. She was preceded in death by her parents, Coleman Cecil and Freda May Day Oldaker and four siblings, Violet Marie Oldaker Thomas, Augustine Irene Oldaker Green, Helen Ruth Oldaker Wagoner and James Burton Oldaker. Dot was a Methodist by faith. After graduating from Buckhannon Upshur High School in 1947, her first career was with the Cumberland-Allegheny Gas Company. She moved to the Atlanta, GA area in 1951. In 1995, Dot retired from Equipment Innovators as a comptroller and officer manager. Her graciousness and effectiveness helped build the company for 32 years. Dot enjoyed traveling, especially cruises. She loved to entertain friends and family at her home and was a child-at-heart, decorating for the holidays. Dot will be remembered as a loving aunt and friend and will be sadly missed by her numerous nieces, nephews and close friends. A graveside service will be held 10 AM Thursday, September 29, 2016 at the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon, with the Rev. Justin Bowers officiating.
