Obituary of Rex Gray Dotson
Please share a memory of Rex to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with a sad heart that I have to let you know that Rex has slipped from this world and went home to be with the boys and the others that have left before us. At his request there will be no services. He did allow us to write a few words for you, his family and friends. Rex started his life as a beautiful dark haired, darked eyed southern WV boy. Throughout his life he has lived, lost, loved and kept fighting his way through. He's done everything from being Vice President of a bank, to stocking shelves at Walmart where he retired from as co-manager. He has gone from owning several businesses to being down and out. He was a graduate of Fairmont State College. Rex has two natural son's, Mike and Phil Dotson and three son's by love, Johnathan Morgan of Buckhannon and Christopher and Steven Morgan who greeted him when he got to the other side. He is also survived by his loving wife, Sherry and his daughter, Maria Sears. Through it all he has lived his life with determination and a kindness that few men have. In his youth he met the first part of his heart, Vicki, sadly, he lost her way too soon to cancer. In the last year's of his life he met the second half of his heart, Sherry. Together they have made it through the toughest times of their lives. As our hearts break in two, he has joined Vicki and his boys. He asked you not to be sad for him, he is finally at peace, but to say a prayer for us that now have to continue on without him. Our hearts and lives will never be the same. He also asks that if you would like to honor his life please make a donation to West Virginia Hospice, they made the last days of his journey full of peace and dignity. In honoring his wishes, Mr. Dotson will be cremated. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
