Obituary of Herbert Herman Betz

untitled2 Herbert Herman Betz Herbert Herman Betz, age 75, of Buckhannon, WV died Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon. He was born January 7, 1936 in Hartford, CT a son of the late Herman and Wilhelmina Emma Derbogen Betz. On July 16, 1988 he married Marlene Jolliff who survives. Also surviving is one son, Karl Herman Betz and wife Cyndi of St. Mary’s, GA; three daughters, Theresa Lee Sales and husband Billy of Elizabeth City, NC; Denise Kathleen Pearl and husband Dennis of Chesapeake, VA and Dolores Anne Siedel of New Brunswick, Canada; one step daughter, Monica Ashcraft of Shinnston, WV; one step son, Michael Burrough of Buckhannon; nine grandchildren; four step grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Werner Walter Betz. Mr. Betz was an upholsterer and a Methodist by faith. He served in the US Navy as an Ocean Systems Technician and after 22 years he retired as a Senior Chief. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Grafton National Cemetery.
