Obituary of Barbara Ann Williams Watts

Barbara Ann Williams Watts, age 82, of Buckhannon, WV, went to be with the Lord on November 21, 2016 at Colonial Place in Elkins, WV while under their wonderful care, along with Mountain Hospice. She was born Tuesday, November 20, 1934, in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Heyward and Lota Garvin Williams. Surviving is her loving husband of 64 years, Charles Watts, with whom she was united in marriage on November 29, 1952, at the Braddock Street Methodist Church in Winchester, VA. Also, surviving is her daughter, Diane Tuggle and husband Lynnwood, of Buckhannon, and four sons, David and wife Jennifer of Richmond, VA, Charles, Jr. and wife Jeri of Lynchburg, VA, Douglas and Kitty of Richmond and Danny and wife Gina of Bridgeport, WV, nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and children, she is survived by two sisters, Kay Parks of Jefferson City, TN and Valerie McFarland of Phoenix, AZ and a number of nieces and nephews. She was a graduate of Buckhannon-Upshur High School with the class of 1952 and attended West Virginia Wesleyan College. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Buckhannon and was a member of the D.A.R. Barbara was a wonderful loving wife and mother, and was a hero to her family putting their needs above everything else. In the 1980’s and 1990’s, when Barbara lived in Lynchburg, VA, she loved to make crafts and display them at craft shows all over Virginia. During that period, after the children were grown, she worked at the CVCC book store, and also volunteered at her church, where she was the financial secretary. Barbara loved to travel in the motor home, and was a member of the Mountaineer Chapter of The Family Motor Coach Association. A memorial service will be held December 17, 2016 at 1 PM at The First United Methodist Church in Buckhannon. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
