Obituary of Ralph H. Miles

Ralph H. Miles, age 92, of Buckhannon, WV died Friday, January 6, 2017 at his daughter’s home. He was born July 5, 1924 in Weston, WV, a son of the late Albert Ross and Nancy Christina Hall Miles. On April 25, 1947 he married Melba Josephene McKisic who preceded him in death on April 9, 2005. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one sister, Willae Harrison and one brother, William W. Miles. Surviving are two daughters, Renee Todd and husband Jim of Reynoldsville, WV and Debra Williams and husband Alan of Newborn, GA; one son, Benny Miles and wife Diane of Grafton, WV; four grandsons, Scott Todd and wife Brandy of Reynoldsville, Robbie Fox and wife Angelia of Covington, GA and Brian Miles and wife Stephanie and Brandon Miles and wife Kristen all of Morgantown, WV; two granddaughters, DeAnna Moore and husband Carlyle of Jackson, GA and Kristi McElwain and husband Matthew of Clarksburg, WV; eleven great grandchildren; one great-great grandson, one sister-in-law, Rita Miles of Bridgeport, WV; several nieces and nephews and a special family friend, Patricia Currence of Buckhannon. Mr. Miles served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the Lorentz UMC and was a lineman and line supervisor for Mon Power. Friends will be received Monday, January 9, 2017 from 4 to 8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Calvin McCutcheon officiating. Burial will follow in the Lorentz Cemetery in Lorentz, WV. The Upshur County Honor Guard will conduct military honors.
