Please share a memory of Laura to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Laura Lee McCloskey, age 66, of Buckhannon, WV, passed away on the morning of January 3, 2018 at her home. She was born December 17, 1951 in Renovo, PA, a daughter of the late Francis G. Sutliff and Willa Shady Hyzer. On September 4, 1976 she married Ralph McCloskey in Beech Creek, PA. She adored spending as much time as she could with her husband. They adored each other, each and every day for 41 years. Mrs. McCloskey is survived by her loving husband, a daughter, Paula Kennelly and husband Chris of Buckhannon with whom she was very proud; two sisters; one brother; several nieces and nephews and dear friends. Laura had many jobs in her lifetime which included piper aircraft, Chem-Con, waitressing and being a daycare provider. The last being her favorite and most rewarding (according to her). She worked with so many families over the years and loved each and every one of them. She woke up everyday and couldn’t wait for her day to begin. Each of them were such a blessing in her life. Laura was very close to two families she worked for, Tracy and Chris Carlyle and Corbin and Autumn Shroyer (her warrior and her princess). She loved you all to pieces. To the Ripley Family, Brett, Leah, Kinsley and Chesney; YaYa (as you called her) loved and cherished every minute with you. Mrs. McCloskey was an avid Penn State Nittany Lions fan. If you ever saw her on a Saturday, you can guarantee she was wearing her Nittany Lions gear. We Are…. Penn State!!! She enjoyed spending as much time as possible with her husband and daughter, laughing and enjoying life to its fullest. She also enjoyed black Friday shopping with Paula. Going to church and TOPS with her best friend Patty Rolenson was the highlight of her week. A memorial service will be held 2 PM Sunday, January 7, 2018 at the Sand Run Baptist Church with the Rev. Donald Butcher officiating. To honor Mrs. McCloskey wishes she will be cremated. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
