Obituary of Carol Ann Atkins

Carol Ann Atkins, age 70, of Buckhannon, WV died Friday, January 20, 2017 at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV. She was born June 26, 1946 in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Franklin C. and Lenna L. Bennett Phillips. On December 23, 1980 she married Charles “Chuck” Atkins who died in 1991. She is survived by one sister, Margaret Neely and husband, Ernest of Buckhannon; one nephew, Steven Neely and wife Cheryl of Richardsville, VA; two nieces, Vickie McDougal and husband Andy of Roseville, CA and Donna Harmon and husband David of Winter Springs, FL and several great nieces and nephews. Mrs. Atkins was a past Worthy Matron and the current Secretary for the Order of The Eastern Star Chapter# 18 and a member of the West Buckhannon Methodist Church. She worked for the Record Delta for 44 years as a Graphic Artist. Friends will be received at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 8 PM with the Order of The Eastern Star providing a service at 5 PM. A funeral service will be held 11 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Calvin McCutcheon officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon.
