Obituary of Dora Hamner

Dora Hamner, age 83, of Buckhannon, WV died Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Holbrook’s Nursing Home in Buckhannon. She was born April 21, 1933 in Alton, WV, a daughter of the late Leslie Walker and Sadie Wamsley Davis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Paul Hamner; one daughter, Robin Hamner; one brother, Jack Davis and three sisters, Jessie Bennett, Victoria McCain and Maggie Rechel. She is survived by four sons, Michael Hamner of Buckhannon, David Hamner of Sago, WV, Eddie Hamner and wife Kathy of Hinkleville, WV and Matthew Hamner and wife Terry of Buckhannon; two daughters, Lisa Frame of Shinnston, WV and Patricia Cleavenger of Germantown, MD; two sisters, Mildred Lewis of Buckhannon and Donnas Koon and husband Claude of Salem, OH; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hamner became an LPN in 1979 and worked for St. Joseph’s Hospital, Weston State Hospital and Crestview Manor before retiring in 2005. Friends will be received Saturday, January 28, 2017 from 10-11 AM at the Good Hope Tabernacle. A memorial service will be held 11 AM Saturday at the church with Pastor Holly J. Hoover officiating.
