Obituary of Mary Anna Summers

Mary Anna Summers, age 67, of Buckhannon, WV died Saturday, February 4, 2017 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. She was born February 3, 1950 in Philadelphia, PA, a daughter of the late Albert Victor Gemmill, Jr. and Virginia May Gaston Gemmill. In Addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one son, Jeffrey Summers. On May 30, 1970 she married Gary Summers who survives. Also surviving is one son, Jonathan Summers of Downingtown, PA; one sister, Jane Casarotti and husband Tony of Front Royal, VA and several extended family members. Mrs. Summers was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Buckhannon. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, sister and friend. Mary Anna graced the lives of others with her caring sensitivity. She was blessed with a variety of artistic talents which she used to enhance the lives of others. Mary Anna enjoyed the tranquility of nature and cherished a deep affection for her dogs and horses. “…the time has come for my departure. I have fought the fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” (II Timothy 4: 6b-7) A memorial gathering will be held Thursday, February 9, 2017 from 5-7 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home.
