Arabelle Thomason, age 80, of Tallmansville, WV, Queens Community died Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. She was born October 17, 1936 in Elkins, WV, a daughter of the late Orval and Mamie Pennington Chewning. On July 3, 1953 she married Gilbert Thomason who preceded her in death on December 3, 2006. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son, Gilbert Eugene “Snoop” Thomason; one daughter, Bobbi Lynn Thomason; two brothers, Sonny and Robert Chewning; and two sisters, Betty Herron and Colleen Hussline. Surviving are one son, Gary Edward Thomason and fiancée Becky of Belington, WV; three daughters, Anita Wright and husband John of Queens, WV, Susie Perkins and husband Virgil of Ivy, WV and Twiggy Garrison and husband Joey of Queens; one brother, James Chewning and wife Olive of Conway, PA; two sisters, Tomi Zickefoose and husband Margel of Waynesville, OH and Shelia Hodges of Buckhannon, WV; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Arabelle was a homemaker and a member of the Tallmansville Baptist Church. Friends will be received Tuesday, February 28, 2017 from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM at the funeral home with the Rev. Ralph Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Lanham Cemetery in Queens.
