Obituary of Clyde R. Reed

Clyde R Reed, age 72, of Tallmansville, WV died Saturday, February 25, 2017 at his home. He was born November 25, 1944 in Queens, WV, a son of the late Lennie and Sylvia Sharp Reed. On November 21, 1969 he married Martha Phillips who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Letha Bowser and Misti Elmore and husband Brian all of Tallmansville; one son, Clyde R Reed, Jr. of Tallmansville; three grandsons, Philip Ward, Caleb Elmore and Isaac Elmore all of Tallmansville; four granddaughters, Courtney Reed of Fairmont, WV, Madison Reed of Buckhannon, WV, Mashae Bowser of Tallmansville, and Savannah Reed of Buckhannon; three brothers, Jerry Reed and wife Lorna, Danny Reed and wife Donna, and Dana Reed and wife Sharoon all of Tallmansville; and one sister, Vicki Reed of Buckhannon. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, David Reed and one sister, Linda Carpenter. Clyde was a sergeant in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a maintenance technician at Corhart. Friends will be received Wednesday, March 1, 2017 from 6 PM to 9 PM at The Way of Holiness Church. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11 AM at the church with Past Jerry Murrell officiating. Burial will follow at the Ten Mile Baptist Cemetery in Ten Mile, WV. The Upshur County Honor Guard will provide military honors at the graveside. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
