Obituary of Betty Lois Bowman

Betty Lois Bowman, age 75, of Buckhannon, WV died Monday, March 27, 2017 at Holbrook’s Nursing Home in Buckhannon. She was born October 22 1941 in Harrison County, WV, a daughter of the late Denny Madison and Elizabeth Riffle Canter. On December 28, 1966 she married William Orin Bowman who preceded her in death on February 27, 2004. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son, Joseph Lee Canter; one daughter, Shirley Bragg; one granddaughter, Elacia Bowman and fourteen brothers and sisters. She is survived by four sons, Steve Bowman and wife Sandy, William L. Bowman and wife Tina and Ray Bowman and wife Kelly all of Buckhannon and Darren J. Bowman of Junior, WV; two daughters, Katherine Irish and husband Earl of North Charleston, SC and Linda Blagg of KY; four grandsons, Darren J. Bowman, II and Christopher Bragg both of Buckhannon, Richard Beckner of SC and Eddy Canter of Philippi, WV; fourteen granddaughters, Rebecca Beckner, Angel Johnson and Rachel Colon all of SC, Natasha Loudin, Dustiny, Georgetta and Dee Dee Blagg all of OH, Nicole Simons, Morgan Bowman and Samantha Harlow all of Buckhannon Nichole Zickefoose of Queens, WV, Tamara Bolyard of Philippi, WV, Maggie Canter of Weston, WV and Vanessa Baughman of Staunton, VA and one brother and two sisters. Mrs. Bowman was a member of the Living Word Church of God of Buckhannon. Friends will be received Thursday, March 30, 2017 from 6-9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Frank Spears officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Church Cemetery in Hodgesville, WV.
