Obituary of Mary Anderson

Mary Anderson, age 83, of Buckhannon, WV died Friday, March 31, 2017 at Serenity Care Home in Buckhannon. She was born October 29, 1933 in Upshur County, WV, a daughter of the late David Strader and Lina Riley Bennett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lawrence Spaur, 2nd husband, Harley E. Anderson; three brothers, Bacil Strader, Clifford Bennett and Ralph Strader and three sisters, Ruth Miller, Opal Starett and Maude Sinclair. She is survived by two daughters, Sue Hawkins of Fairmont, WV and Janet Anderson and husband David W. of Buckhannon; three sons, Phillip M. Spaur and wife Barbara of Weston, WV, Sam Spaur and wife Bonnie of Ballard, WV and Lawrence Spaur, Jr. of Buckhannon; five grandsons, Judson Spaur and wife Samantha of Kansas City, MO, Andrew Spaur and wife Briana of TX, Jason Anderson and wife Sheena of Buckhannon, Matt Spaur and wife Courtney of Peterstown, WV and Brian Hawkins and wife Amanda of Rivesville, WV; five granddaughters, Joanna Spaur of Weston, Lisa Buckland and husband Shannon of Kingsland, GA, Ashley Spaur of Clarksburg, WV, Stephanie Anderson of Buckhannon and Amanda Buchanan and husband Rob of Oak Ridge, TN; fifteen great-grandchildren; four brothers, Macil Strader, Clark Strader and Floyd Bennett all of OH and Ray Strader of WV; one sister, Florence Cesaro of OH; one step son, George Anderson of Buckhannon and one step daughter, Mary Martin and husband Charlie of Buckhannon. Mrs. Anderson was a member of the South Buckhannon Mission Church. She was active in the Senior Center in Buckhannon and volunteered countless hours to the Clothes Closet. She enjoyed walking and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Friends will be received Sunday, April 2, 2017 from 5:30 until 8:30 PM at the South Buckhannon Mission Church. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Monday at the South Buckhannon Mission Church with Pastor Ed Lowther officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon.
