Obituary of Deborah Gayle Price Leigh

Deborah Gayle Price Leigh, age 59, of Buckhannon, WV died at the home of her parents, Wayne and Adelene Shaffer Price on Wednesday, April 5, 2017. She was born in Indiana, PA on June 21, 1957. She was preceded in death by one brother, Terry Wayne Price and both sets of grandparents, Everett and Lorain Price and Ben and Adeline Shaffer. Left to cherish her memory are her parents, listed above, and by her daughter Cara Dawn Leigh Hewitt (Mike) and by her son Matthew Allen Leigh along with her granddaughters Caila Nicole Linger and Tori Alexis Hewitt, all from Buckhannon, and grandson Sebastian Isaiah Leigh, from Killeen, TX. She is also survived by her brother Michael Allen Price, her great aunt Elsie Stone, her Aunt Naomi and Uncle Bill McGrew and Aunt Jackie and Uncle Bob Price. She has many cousins and nieces and nephews, four of the nephews were very special to her and her family. They are Davey, Chris, and Jason Leigh and Eric Lee who played with her children when they were children, and they still play together. Also surviving is her great friend Amanda West Norment. Debbie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Buckhannon where she was a Sunday School teacher, Children’s Worker, Youth Worker for several years, Director of Vacation Bible School, Director of Clown Ministry and Director of a Puppet Ministry. She worked in the Chapel Office at West Virginia Wesleyan College for over ten years. Visitation will be held at the First Baptist Church, Saturday, April 8, 2017 from 11 AM- 1 PM with the services beginning at 1 PM with the Rev. Angela Gay Kinkead, the Rev. Jay Teodora and the Rev. Chris Scott officiating. Online condolences may be extended to the family at www.polingstclair.com. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to West Virginia Hospice, 8 Hartman Plaza, Buckhannon, WV 26201. Debbie’s request for cremation will then be honored.
