Obituary of Marlin Dwain Beckner

Marlin Dwain Beckner, age 79, of Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, April 13, 2017 at his home in Buckhannon. He was born April 9, 1938 in Buckhannon, a son of the late John and Freda Robinson Beckner. On August 10, 1956 he married Margaret Jane Auskings who preceded him in death on October 21, 2003. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by one son, Randy Beckner; one granddaughter, Katie Hamilton; one great grandson, Brody Hamilton; one sister, Ruby Goodwin and two brothers, Dale and Herbert Beckner. He is survived by eight daughters, Cindy Hamilton of Tallmansville, WV, Terry Blagg and husband Ed of Buckhannon, Jodi Rinker of Bridgeport, WV, Kelly Austin and husband Ronald of Buckhannon, Traci Corathers and husband Mike of Ellamore, WV, Lori, Lisa and Sheena Beckner all of Buckhannon; three sons, Jeff Beckner of Tallmansville and Marlin and Bo Beckner both of Buckhannon; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren and two sisters, Mavis Eskew of Buckhannon and Evelyn Jean Ryan of OH. Mr. Beckner served in the Army National Guard, worked for the state road in Buckhannon and was employed for over 30 years at Corhart Refractories in Buckhannon. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who spent his entire life providing for his family. Friends will be received Tuesday, April 18, 2017 from 12 PM until 1 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home with funeral service at 1 PM with the Rev. J. Edward McDaniels officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. The Upshur County Honor Guard will provide Military Honors at the graveside service.
