Obituary of Aubrey Gale Linger

Aubrey Gale Linger, age 92, of Buckhannon, WV died Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV. He was born September 12, 1924 in Lorentz, WV, a son of the late DeWitt and Evelyn Smith Linger. On June 4, 1950 he married Nancy Nye who preceded him in death on November 12, 2011. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by two sisters, Kathryn Schweikart and Josephine Heckert and one brother, Paul Linger. He is survived by two daughters, Janice Huffman of Buckhannon and Gail Linger of Pittsburgh, PA; one grandson, Jason Huffman of Charleston, WV; one sister, Marjorie Ours of Buckhannon; several nieces and nephews and a close family friend, Erica Mauk of Buckhannon. Mr. Linger was an active member in the Lorentz Community and was the Treasurer of the Lorentz Community Association. He enjoyed watching sports, gardening and woodworking. Mr. Linger was a Gas Worker for Columbia Gas Company and a member of the Lorentz United Methodist Church. Friends will be received Saturday, June 3, 2017 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Scott Owens officiating.
