Obituary of George J. Kalafat

George J. Kalafat, age 65, of Buckhannon, WV, died Saturday, June 10, 2017 with his loving wife Christine by his side. He was born March 17, 1952 in Orange, NJ, a son of Dorothy Hutson of Cullman, AL and the late John George Kalafat. On December 28, 1970, he married Christine Sutherland who survives. In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by two sons, Jason Mark Kalafat of Falls Church, VA and Brent George Kalafat of Bridgeport, WV; one daughter, Karen Lynn Kalafat of Bridgeport; one grandson, Christian Daniel Kalafat of Falls Church; one granddaughter, Zoe Kathleen Kalafat of Falls Church; one brother, Gabriel John Kalafat and wife Ellen of Owasso, OK; and one sister, Maryann Wray and husband Timothy of Sequim, WA. Mr. Kalafat was a business owner and a member of the Elks Chapter #1736 in Buckhannon. He loved to golf, trout fish and play cards with his friends. Friends will be received Tuesday, June 13, 2017 from 5 PM to 8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Weston Masonic Cemetery in Weston, WV. Following the burial, a reception will be held for family and friends at the Elks Lodge in Buckhannon.
