Obituary of Regina Sue Summers

Regina Sue Summers, age 49, of Utica, OH died Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark, OH. She was born October 10, 1967 in South Charleston, WV a daughter of Claudia Susan Williams Petree of Umatilla, FL and the late George Lee Karnes. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her brother, Christopher Lee Karnes. On July 7, 1996, she married Timothy B. Summers who survives. In addition to her mother and husband she is survived by her step-father, Clarence Ray Petree of Umatilla; her step-mother, Teresa Day Karnes of Longwood, FL; one daughter, Susan Eileen Summers of Mt. Vernon, OH; one step-daughter, Amanda Dené Summers of Dunbar, WV; three brothers, George Lee Karnes and wife Lannette of Front Royal, VA, Robert Lee Karnes and wife Amy of Tallmansville, WV and Richard Lee Karnes of Ten Mile, WV; a half-brother, Jameson Day Karnes of Longwood and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Mrs. Summers was a homemaker and a member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Bexley, OH. She enjoyed needle crafts, gardening, canning and was an expert at cross stitching. In her spare time, she would find happiness in playing Words with Friends. Regina will be remembered as a devoted and loving mother and homeschool teacher. A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Ten Mile Baptist Cemetery with Daniel Puzzo officiating. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
