Obituary of David D Taylor II

David D. Taylor II, age 25 of French Creek, WV was killed in Military Combat in Syria on Sunday, July 16, 2017. He was born October 2, 1991, in Ocala, FL and is survived by his mother Rebecca Taylor of Philadelphia, PA and father David D. Taylor & Beverly Davis of French Creek, WV. Mr. Taylor graduated from West Port High School in Ocala, FL in 2010. He honorably served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 2012-2016, serving in Afghanistan, Japan, South Korea and in Jordan. He last honorably and nobly served volunteering for the People’s Protection Unit, known as the YPG (Yekineyen Parastina Gel), that fights to destroy ISIS. In addition to his parents he is survived by two sisters, Kaitlyn Faith and Lauren Hope Taylor both of Williston, FL and step-sister, Maribeth Vallario Weatherly of Williston, FL; uncles Ronald R. Taylor of Buckhannon, Greg Jack of Ocala, FL, Jon Jack of San Antonio, TX, Jef Jack of Jacksonville, FL, Duke Jack of Atlanta, GA, Rick Jack of Atlanta, GA, Lewis Jack of Coral Gables, FL, Bob Jack of Orlando, FL and aunt Louis Palmatier of Miami, FL; his paternal grandparents, Harry and Betty Taylor of Buckhannon, WV; his all-time greatest friends Alex Cintron, Andy Leis and Rachel Erin Workman, FL; the men and women who proudly and unselfishly serve our country in the United States Marine Corps and the Kurdish-led YPG Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), including the YPJ (the women’s branch of the YPG) and all partners with the United States-led global coalition fighting to destroy ISIS. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Lewis Nicholson & Belinda Jack. Friends will be received Saturday, August 12, 2017 from 10 to 11 AM at Jawbone Park in Buckhannon. A memorial service will follow at 11 AM Saturday. In lieu of flowers, the family respectively requests that financial contributions be made to Frank B Bartlett Post #7 American Legion, 16 South Kanawha Street, Buckhannon, WV 26201, wherein all contributions will be utilized solely for veteran-related services.
