Obituary of ​Beryl Gene McKisic

Beryl Gene McKisic, age 68, of Buckhannon, WV died Friday, August 11, 2017 at Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown, WV. He was born December 31, 1948 in Upshur County, WV, a son of the late Herbert Lee and Reba Belle Riffle McKisic. On January 30, 1967 he married JoAn Wilson who survives. Also surviving are one son, Jeff McKisic and wife Micki of Lynchburg, VA; one daughter, Jill Bailey and husband Bud of Buckhannon; one granddaughter, Micayla Owen and husband Eric of Danville, VA; three grandsons, Cole and Cody Bailey both of Buckhannon and Chance McKisic of Lynchburg; one great granddaughter, Lily Owen of Danville; one great-grandson, Easton Owen of Danville; three brothers, Robert McKisic and wife Rosalea of Buckhannon, Paul McKisic and wife Sue of French Creek, WV and Steve McKisic and wife Tanya of Greenville, SC; one sister, Karen Channel and husband Robert of Huttonsville, WV; several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Angel. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Herbert Lee McKisic, Jr. and Richard Lee “Cricket” McKisic. Beryl was a member of the Hopes Point Baptist Church in Weston, WV. Mr. McKisic was a Pastor for over 35 years starting the Liberty Baptist Church in Buckhannon in 1989 and the Calvary Baptist Church in Scottsville, VA. He also served as Pastor for South Buckhannon Mission Church in Buckhannon. He was an avid golfer and loved to hunt with his children and grandchildren. Friends will be received Sunday, August 13, 2017 from 4-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM on Monday at the Hopes Point Baptist Church with Pastor Dan Vaughn, Pastor David Jessie and Pastor Charles Madous officiating.
