Obituary of Kermit D. Moreland

Kermit Moreland Kermit D. Moreland Kermit D. Moreland, age 79, of Philippi, WV died Friday, February 13, 2015 at Mansfield Place in Philippi. He was born May 30, 1935 in Upshur County, WV, a son of the late Erskin and Icie Gregory Moreland. On August 29, 1958 he married Shelby Jean Edmond who survives. Also surviving is one daughter, Pam Bailey of West Milford, WV; one granddaughter, Stacy Allman of Lost Creek, WV; two grandsons, Zachary Dutton of West Milford and Joshua Moreland of Randolph County, WV; two great-grandsons, Troy Delaney of Ellamore, WV and Jullian Allman of Lost Creek; one great-granddaughter, Lilliana Delaney of Ellamore and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Kermit D. Moreland, Jr. and two sisters, Betty Jaep and Bonnie Ray. Mr. Moreland was a coal miner. He was a lifetime member of the 82nd Airborne Division Historical Society and a member of the United Mine Workers. Friends will be received Tuesday, February 17, 2015 from 11 AM until 2 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home.
