Elizabeth A. McCann
Elizabeth A. McCann, age 90, of French Creek, WV died Monday, July 20, 2009 at her home. She was born May 8, 1919 in Upshur County, WV, a daughter of the late Chambers C. and Tobitha T. Tenney Perry. On July 4, 1941 she married Frank D. McCann who preceded her in death on August 15, 2001. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Hyson, Monroe, Sandusky and Lafyette Perry. She is survived by one daughter, Janet G. Hamner and husband Tom of Indian Camp, WV; three sons, Ronald McCann and wife Robyn of French Creek, Robert D. McCann and wife Bonnie of Hueytown, AL and Stanford D. McCann and wife Charlotte of Indian Camp; two brothers, Egbert Perry of Adrian, WV and Eddie Perry of Waterloo, WV; six granddaughters, Monica Snider and husband Jimmy of Indian Camp, Shanah Carpenter and husband Danny of Carter, WV, Shellie Humphrey and husband Marty of Crawford, WV, Stephanie Gillum and husband Eric of Bethlehem, WV, Connie Rowan and husband Carl of Buckhannon and Kathy McCann of Hueytown; five grandsons, Vince Hamner and wife Josette of Durham, NC, Bobby McCann and wife Tammy of Wardensville, WV, Michael McCann and wife Carolyn of Buckhannon, Jeffrey McCann and wife Terri of Frenchton, WV and Benjamin McCann of Alton, WV and twenty great-grandchildren. Mrs. McCann was a homemaker, a member of the Indian Camp United Methodist Church and a life long member of the Indian Camp Settlers Club. Friends will be received Friday, July 24, 2009 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. She will lie in state from 1-2 PM the funeral hour on Saturday, July 25, 2009 at the Indian Camp United Methodist Church with the Rev. Wease Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Indian Camp Church Cemetery at French Creek. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
