RobinsonMaurice Maurice G. Robinson Maurice G. Robinson entered into rest Tuesday evening, November 6, 2007, at Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home in Boardman, OH, after a short illness. He was born August 14, 1920, in Buckhannon, WV, a son of the late Nelson and Evalena Preisse Robinson. During World War II Mr. Robinson was employed at the Ravenna Arsenal. After the war he was employed by American Standard and Mullins Manufacturing, until each plant closed. He retired from Copperweld Steel after working 19 years, where he was affectionately known as “Curly”. Mr. Robinson was a race car enthusiast, and, in his younger years, competed in car racing at the Canfield Race Track. He enjoyed hunting and was the proud owner of a gun collection. In his later years he enjoyed watching sporting events on TV, especially his favorite Pittsburgh Steelers. His greatest love was his family. He loved to tell everyone about his five daughters and how very proud he was of his family. He never met a stranger, and anyone who knew him loved him. He made many friends throughout his life, and his friendships continued during his residence at Shepherd of the Valley. Mr. Robinson’s family will be eternally grateful and blessed by the loving care, friendship and devotion given him during his stay at Shepherd of the Valley.
