Nellie Frances Gaston Morgan
Nellie Frances Gaston Morgan, age 98, of Buckhannon, WV died Friday, May 16, 2008 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon. She was born January 10, 1910, a daughter of the late Edward Franklin and Rebecca Anna Clark Mayo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Dr. Howard Loman Gaston whom she married on October 31, 1947 and second husband Ralph Morgan whom she married October 12, 1979; two stepsons, John Richard “Jack” Morgan and Robert Howard Morgan; one brother, Charles Hayes Mayo and a special relative, Walter Fox. She will be very much missed by a step daughter, Jean Weck and husband Roger of NJ; a step daughter in law, Jean Morgan of VA; five step grandsons, Corbin and Camden Weck and Mark, Matthew and Jonathan Morgan; several step great-grandchildren; a special relation, Dottie Fox of Belle, WV; sister in law, Virginia Gaston Gemill of Buckhannon; several nieces and nephews and by special friends and caregivers. Mrs. Morgan was a Draftsman for Dean Engineering and was a member of the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. She was a civilian worker for the Air Force at Wright Field and Kingsman Army Air Base as a “Rosey the Riveter” and was a member of the DAR and Rebekah Lodge of Pickens, WV. She was in the first graduating class of Pickens High School and a member of the College Club of WVWC. Friends will be received Sunday, May 18, 2008 from 6-8 PM at the Poling-St.Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Gary Stackpole officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery.
