Obituary of Elva Marie Lloyd

Elva Marie Lloyd Elva Marie Lloyd Elva Marie Lloyd, age 99, of Helvetia, WV died Monday, December 28, 2015 at Paula’s Home Care in Buckhannon, WV with her family by her side. She was born July 29, 1916 in Upshur County, WV, a daughter of the late Eli and Gertrude Tenney Carpenter. On June 9, 1936 she married George “Dude” Lloyd who preceded her in death on December 12, 2008. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers, William, Hoy, Frank, Kessler, Sullie and Holland Carpenter; five sisters, Lola Burr, Mellie and Nellie Tenney, Northa Carpenter and Oneta Hoover and one infant sister. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Lloyd was a homemaker. Friends will be received Wednesday, December 30, 2015 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1 PM Thursday at the Mt. Olive United Methodist Church in Hemlock, WV with Pastor Holly J. Hoover officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
