Obituary of Merle Baxa Brake

untitled2 Merle Baxa Brake Merle Baxa Brake, age 98, of Baldwin, GA died Friday, January 28, 2011. She was born September 26, 1912 in Upshur Co. WV a daughter of the late James Edward and Icie Charlotte Smith Baxa. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Doncel Brake; one brother; four sisters and one niece Leonora Talbott Strader. She is survived by niece Dorthy Lee Dutchess and husband Dan of Winchester, VA; nephew James Boone and wife Frances of Ocala, FL; two nieces and two nephews on her husband side and many great nieces and great nephews. Mrs. Baxa was a member of the Rock Cave United Methodist Church attended WV Business College, worked several years as a secretary and was a homemaker. Friends will be received Friday, February 11, 2011 from 1-2 PM the funeral hour at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home with the Rev. Kara Phillippi officiating.
