Obituary of Phillip Woodford Barbe

BarbePhillip Phillip W. Barbe Phillip W. Barbe, age 63, of Buckhannon, WV died Friday, July 18, 2008 at his home under the Care of People’s Hospice. He was born November 21, 1944 in Mill Creek, WV, a son of the late Woodford Barbe and Rhea Haddix Wasmer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Marie Underwood. He is survived by four sisters, Jill Bentley and husband Ron of Buckhannon, Jackie Bennett and husband Don of Lost Creek, WV, Dee Suan and husband Edsel of Amargrosa Valley, NV and Janet Kirk and husband Adrian of Tallmadge, OH; two brothers Coy Barbe and wife Linda of Diana, WV and Chris Wasmer of Carthage, TN; several nieces and nephews and all his co-workers at Triad Builders of King, NC. Mr. Barbe was a carpenter and a Baptist by faith. Friends will be received Sunday, July 20, 2008 from 6-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Cowgar Cemetery at Monterville, WV. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
