Obituary of Patricia Virginia Kelley

Patricia Virginia Kelley Patricia Virginia Kelley Patricia Virginia Kelley, age 85, of Buckhannon, WV went to be with our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon. She was born June 14, 1930 in Ellamore, WV, the youngest daughter of the late John and Viola Wratchford Pratt. On April 7, 1948, she married Marvis Ray Kelley who preceded her in death on December 10, 2001. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sons, Thomas Ray Kelley and infant son, Roger Ray Kelley and four sisters, Mavis, Martha, Gainelle and Annie. Surviving are two sons, Mark Kelley and wife Erin and Matthew and wife Beth Ann all of Buckhannon; one grandson, Alex Kelley of Buckhannon; one granddaughter, Haylee Kelley of Buckhannon and several nieces and nephews. Even at a young age Patricia was said to have a feisty but charitable personality. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt, sister-in-law and friend. Aside from being a wonderful mother to three boys, she held a job working for a glass factory and was an avid singer, even performing on the radio. Patricia was a long time active member of the Ten Mile Baptist Church and the community and was well respected. Despite several medical challenges that left her speechless in 1989, Patricia always made sure her opinions were heard. Her life will always be recalled with fondness and cherished memories. Friends will be received Thursday, September 3, 2015 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Mrs. Kelley will lie in state Friday at the Ten Mile Baptist Church from 12 Noon to 1 PM the funeral hour with the Rev. Brad Tenney officiating. Burial will follow in the Ten Mile Baptist Church Cemetery in Ten Mile, WV. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
