Charles R. Kimble Charles R. Kimble Charles R. Kimble, age 62, of Buckhannon, WV died Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at his home. He was born October 25, 1951 in Buckhannon, a son of the late George R. and Margaret Hamilton Kimble. On December 19, 1970 he married Sandra Hinkle at the Macedonia United Methodist Church by the Rev. Lloyd Tenney. In addition to his wife he is survived by one son, Rob Kimble of Buckhannon; two brothers, Gary Kimble and wife Sherry of Buckhannon and Terry Kimble and wife Janet of Tallmansville; one sister, Eva Potts of Buckhannon; his mother-in-law, Kate (Maw) Hinkle of Buckhannon; four brothers-in law, George Hinkle and wife Carol and Richard Hinkle all of Parkersburg, WV and Dan Hinkle and wife Deb and David Hinkle and wife Deloris all of Buckhannon; two sisters-in-law, Pat and Shirley Powers both of Orrville, OH; one cousin, Al Kimble and wife Nancy of Elyria, OH; six nephews, Andy Potts and wife Heidi, Adrian and Clayton Kimble, J.W. Kimble and wife Jennifer, Chris Kimble and wife Michaela and Joe Yeager and wife Miranda; six nieces, Darlene White, Diana Kimble, Kelli Dean and husband Mike, Cindy Kotol, Tina Self and husband Kenny and Jessica Adkins and husband Ron and several great nieces and great nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, George Edward and Thomas Wayne Kimble; his father-in-law, Verlin J. Hinkle; one brother-in-law, Junior Potts and two sisters-in-law, Sue Davis and Betty Thren. Mr. Kimble worked for Shorty’s Pool Room for a year while he was in high school, after graduating he worked for Fort Pitt Shoes. He worked for Kyle M. Reger Lumber Co. before and after his military commitment. He worked for H&R Block for one year and as a coal miner for Miami Coal Co. for one year. Charles worked for Corthart Refractories in maintenance. Mr. Kimble was a member of the Macedonia UMC and the Local United Steel Workers #477. Charles served in the U.S. Army from January 1971 to October 1972. He had his basic training at Fort Knox, KY and his AIT training at Fort Polk, LA. Mr. Kimble was stationed at Wurzburg, Germany with the 3rd Administration Company, 3rd Infantry Division. Charles received the National Defense, Army Commendation, Sharp Shooter M16 and Good Conduct Medals. He finished his military commitment with the Army National Guard in Buckhannon. He loved working with wood and making peanut butter fudge. He took his peanut butter fudge all around town and people referred to him as the Candy Man. Charles was Baptized on February 9, 2014. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, April 4, 2014, from 4 to 8 PM and 11 AM Saturday at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home with the Rev. Rodney Heckert officiating. Burial will follow in the Reed Cemetery in Tallmansville, WV. The Upshur Co. Honor Guard will conduct full military honors at the graveside.
