Obituary of Koon FIXME

untitled3 Claudie Koon Claudie Koon, age 86, of Buckhannon, WV died Friday, February 10, 2012 at his home. He was born May 23, 1925 in Czar, WV, a son of the late Wilson and Nellie Bailey Koon. On October 14, 1950 he married Bessie Dennison Koon who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Marcine Matthews and husband James of Foster, WV and Ilene Kratz of Aberden, MD; two grandsons, B.R. Rice of Madison, WV and David Phillips of Buckhannon; two granddaughters, Shellee Moore of Madison and Katrece Tinney of Buckhannon; seven great grandchildren and two brothers, Dallas Koon of FL and Stanley Koon of Mill Creek, WV. Mr. Koon was a coal miner. He was a member of the Mt. Washington United Methodist Church, the I.O.O.F. Boone Lodge # 170 of Madison, and U.M.W. Local # 9735. He served in the US Army during WWII. Friends will be received Monday, February 13, 2012 from 10-11 AM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 11 AM Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jeff Zickefoose officiating. Burial will follow in the Buckhannon Memorial Park in Buckhannon. Buckhannon VFW Post # 3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post # 7 American Legion, DAV Chapters # 5 & # 36 will conduct Military Honors at the gravesite.
