ByrdShelia Shelia K. Byrd Shelia K. Byrd, age 43, of Volga, WV the Hodgesville Community died Friday, May 2, 2008 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon, WV. She was born January 10, 1965 in Upshur County, WV, a daughter of Charles G. and Phyllis Beam Wamsley of Buckhannon. On August 17, 1982 she married David Byrd who survives. Also surviving are one brother, Randy Wamsley and wife Luz of Winston-Salem, NC; several aunts, uncles, cousins and special Uncle Bob Tenney; father and mother in law, Don and Barbara Byrd of Hodgesville; sisters in law, Kimberly Gifford and husband Russ of Hodgesville and Phyllis Bailey of Hodgesville; a niece, Jennifer Ervin and husband Scott of Hodgesville; two nephews, Cameron Ervin and Chad Gifford both of Hodgesville and a special family and their children Ron and Amy Pearson of Buckhannon. Shelia was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Ray Wamsley. Shelia was a Child Care Giver for children for 26 years, a member of the Sand Run Baptist Church, Sunday School Teacher for elementary children. She loved children and was a devoted and loving wife. Friends will be received Monday, May 5, 2008 from 2-4 PM at the Sand Run Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held 4 PM at the Sand Run Baptist Church with the Rev. Donald Butcher and the Rev. Ralph Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Union Church Cemetery at Tallmansville, WV. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
